Position Overview: We are currently seeking a Tax Partner or a Partner and Associate with expertise in business tax advisory to join this firm's dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced tax lawyer or group to play a key role in the firm’s continued growth, working on a broad range of complex and high-profile transactions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Tax Partner or team, you will lead and advise clients on a variety of business tax matters, including but not limited to:
• Opportunity Zone Deals: Structuring tax-advantaged investments and guiding clients through the compliance process.
• Tax Credit Deals: Advising on federal, state, and local tax credit
programs, including historic preservation, low-income housing, and other incentive-based programs.
• M&A Transactions: Providing tax analysis and structuring advice for mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
• Real Estate Development Transactions: Structuring and advising on tax
efficient strategies for real estate projects, including 1031 exchanges and partnership tax issues.
• General Corporate and Partnership Tax Advice: Advising clients on general corporate and partnership matters, such as entity formation, tax planning, restructurings and compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 8+ years of experience in business tax law, with a focus on opportunity zones, tax credits, M&A, real estate development, and general corporate tax matters.
• Experience working in either an in-house legal department
or a law firm environment, with demonstrated expertise in structuring complex tax matters.
• Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws, including tax incentives and credits.
• Excellent analytical, drafting, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters and work effectively with clients, colleagues, and outside professionals.
• Proven leadership ability, with a collaborative approach to client
relationships and team management.
• JD from an accredited law school, with LLM in Taxation preferred
but not required.
