Job Description
Helpmates is seeking a Quality Technician to support quality assurance team. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in reviewing technical documents, inspecting materials, and supporting quality processes.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Pay Rate:Â $22.00 - $23.00/hr.Â
Location: Cerritos, CA
Duration: 3 monthsÂ
Job Duties
- Review technical documents for source inspection lots.
- Check customer specifications, PO codes, and quality notes during contract review.
- Help the Quality Engineer (Q.E.) review and approve engineering change orders (ECOs).
- Assist with reviewing returned materials (RMAs) from customers.
- Support investigations for customer complaints and internal quality issues.
- Help with problem-solving activities like root-cause analysis, CAPA, and 8D reports.
- Report daily quality updates as part of SQDC tracking.
- Assist with reviewing and handling nonconforming materials (MRB).
- Create quality notifications (QNs) in SAP for defective materials.
- Read and understand procedures, specs, work instructions, and job travelers.
- Support the Q.E. in training final inspectors.
- Participate in quality and process audits.
- Review X-rays and DPA reports with guidance from the Q.E.
Requirements:Â
- Minimum 1-year experience in Quality, Inspection, or related manufacturing environment.
- Experience with completing and reviewing AS9102 FAIR’s, including Net-Inspect and Discus.
- Good knowledge of blueprint reading, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), and ASME Y14.5M.
- Hand dexterity, coordination, and accuracy.
- General understanding of Quality Assurance Systems and Applications, such as ISO 9001 or AS9100.
- Experience in the aerospace, military, and defense industries or cable assembly businesses preferred.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Basic arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages.
- Statistics: Interpret and analyze numerical data using statistical methods.
- Basic algebra: The ability to manipulate symbols and equations to find unknown values, express relationships, and model situations.
- Basic Geometry: The ability to understand and work with shapes, angles, lines, and planes.
