Job Title: Production Quality Control Tester and Back Up Plant Operator
Pay: $18/hour to start & $22/hr after 90 days - Must be flexible for swing or graveyard
Hours: 5:00AM-1:00PM M-F
Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking a Production Quality Control Tester and Back Up Plant Operator for a Temp-Hire position with our client, a leading manufacturer of abrasive blast media, foundry products, roofing materials and specialty aggregates, located in Riddle, Oregon. The Production Quality Control Tester and Back Up Plant Operator will play an essential role in managing raw materials and ensuring smooth operations in the warehouse. The ideal candidate will monitor quality within plant production as well as set up blends for the various products being loaded into trucks, rail cars, or into the packaging department. While filling in for the Plant Operator, MUST BE ABLE TO ROTATE BETWEEN SHIFTS when needed. As a Production Quality Control Tester and Back Up Plant Operator, you will be responsible for:

  • Complete all daily plant samples and analyze data. Report data results to the Plant Operator.

  • Record plant sample results in the database and other various spreadsheets. (Record and report any discrepancies to the East Plant Supervisor as soon as possible.)

  • Set up and create blends for new and existing products.

  • Analyze blending data and make adjustments when needed.

  • Send daily required emails.

  • Monitor and manage tank levels.

  • Monitor packaging hopper levels to keep production flowing.

  • Study packaging schedule to remain up to date on new orders.

  • Help bag product in packaging when needed.

  • Perform daily clean up.

  • Load boxcars, trucks and intermodals when needed.

  • Operate Loader when needed.

  • Other tasks and duties as assigned.

 

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • Excellent verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

  • Able to follow written and/or verbal instructions.

  • Possess the ability and understanding of general mathematics at a high school level.
