Exciting Opportunities for 2nd Shift Material Handlers – Urgently hiring in Portland!

Job Title: 2nd Shift Material Handler
Pay: $20/hour + 10% shift differential ($22/hour total)
Hours: 2nd shift, approximately 3:00 PM–11:00 PM
Start Date: ASAP

Looking for a second-shift position with opportunities to learn new skills? Join a busy mail and warehouse operation as a Material Handler in Portland, ME, and make an impact every day. As a Material Handler, you'll help move and organize materials, gather mail pallets, load and unload trucks, and communicate with outside carriers. You'll work closely with your team to keep operations running smoothly and will have the chance to expand your skills by learning additional areas like printing and inserting.

What You'll Do
As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for
• Operate an industrial pallet jack to move materials and mail pallets
• Gather and stage mail pallets throughout the facility
• Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently
• Communicate with outside carriers and assist with deliveries and pickups
• Stock storage locations with envelopes, paper, and other supplies
• Keep materials organized and readily available for production
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
• Learn additional responsibilities such as printing and inserting

What You'll Bring
The ideal candidate for this role will have
• Reliable and dependable attendance
• Comfortable working in a warehouse or production environment
• Ability to safely operate a pallet jack
• Comfortable loading, unloading, and moving materials
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to learn new equipment and processes
• Helpful (not required): experience in a postal / carrier or mailroom environment (USPS, FedEx, UPS, etc.) and familiarity with mailings (sorting/staging mail, labels, scanning, and basic shipping paperwork)
• Previous warehouse, material handling, or shipping/receiving experience is a plus
