The Finance Director will oversee the company's financial operations, manage accounting activities, and generate accurate financial statements and reports. Success in this position is measured by the timely and accurate delivery of financial reports, maintenance of proper controls over financial resources, and effective communication with the senior leadership team. We are seeking a Finance Director for our client, an organization with a mission of giving second chances to new U.S. residents. The Finance Director will oversee the company's financial operations, manage accounting activities, and generate accurate financial statements and reports. Success in this position is measured by the timely and accurate delivery of financial reports, maintenance of proper controls over financial resources, and effective communication with the senior leadership team. This is an onsite position located in Bath, ME.
As a Finance Director, you will be responsible for:
- Overseeing the daily, weekly, and monthly accounting and finance functions.
- Managing all financial reporting and accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Conducting daily, weekly, and monthly financial assessments and generating reports for senior management.
- Providing ongoing training and management to direct reports.
- Preparing, reviewing, and analyzing financial statements for accuracy and completeness.
- Reconciling accounts, managing equipment assets, and ensuring accounts are up-to-date.
- Maintaining strict confidentiality regarding company business and employees.
- Assessing and recommending improvements to current practices and procedures.
- Supporting grant writing requests and performing ad hoc analysis and projects.
- Serving as an advisory member of the Food Safety and Food Quality team, notifying management of any issues.
- A Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting is required.
- A minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in a senior finance or accounting position is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of project-based accounting software, impeccable mathematics, and analytical skills.
- Organized, accurate, dependable, flexible, client-focused, proactive, and professional.
- A CPA is preferred but not required.
