Electronics Technician

Pay: Up to $27 per hour (based on experience)

Hours: Full-time, 1st shift

Role Overview

Join a leading manufacturer specializing in access control, factory automation, and industrial sensors as an Electronics Technician in Cleveland, OH. In this role, you will play a vital role in testing, diagnosing, and troubleshooting circuit boards to ensure they meet high-quality design specifications. You will work directly with the Plant Manager to support manufacturing operations, ensuring smooth and efficient production.

Note: The core focus of this position is hands-on product testing and component-level diagnostic troubleshooting (rather than board assembly or soldering).

What You'll Do

  • Follow written electronic test procedures to perform functional product testing and verify circuit board functionality to design specifications.

  • Utilize diagnostic test equipment—specifically Multimeters and Oscilloscopes—to test, inspect, and evaluate electronic assemblies.

  • Read and interpret circuit schematics, accurately identifying electronic components and tracing signals to troubleshoot failing circuit boards down to the component level.

  • Perform visual quality inspections of Surface Mount (SMT) and Plated Through-Hole (PTH) circuit boards using lenses and microscopes.

  • Assist the Plant Manager with technical support and production needs on the manufacturing floor.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and efficiency.

What You'll Bring

  • Product Testing Experience: Proven background in electronic product testing and knowledge of functional testing procedures in a manufacturing environment.

  • Test Equipment Proficiency: Practical, hands-on experience using diagnostic tools, including Multimeters and Oscilloscopes.

  • Schematic Reading & Component Identification: Strong ability to read and interpret electronic circuit schematics, confidently identify individual components, and trace circuit flow to isolate root causes of failures.

  • Education: An Associate Degree in Electronics Technology or a related field is strongly preferred.

  • Industry Standards: Familiarity with the IPC-A610 Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies standard or ability to reference technical materials.

  • Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal, relationship management, and communication skills (verbal and written).

  • (Note: While basic familiarity with SMT/PTH components is necessary, high-level soldering is not a primary requirement for this position.)
