Job Description
Capstone Search Advisors is conducting a search on behalf of a well-established food manufacturing company seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead plant engineering, capital projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Position Overview
The Engineering Manager will be responsible for overseeing plant engineering activities, managing capital projects, and supporting equipment reliability, safety, and process optimization within a food manufacturing environment. This role partners closely with operations, maintenance, quality, and leadership teams to support production goals while ensuring compliance with food safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage plant engineering functions, including project engineers and technical resources

Plan, execute, and manage capital projects from concept through commissioning

Support equipment reliability, line efficiency, and process improvements across production areas

Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to reduce downtime and improve throughput

Ensure engineering solutions comply with food safety, FDA, USDA, SQF, and GMP requirements

Develop and manage capital budgets, timelines, and vendor relationships

Evaluate new technologies, automation, and equipment to support growth and efficiency

Support plant layout, line expansions, and facility upgrades

Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies

Maintain engineering documentation, drawings, and specifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field)

5+ years of engineering leadership experience in a food or beverage manufacturing environment

Strong knowledge of food manufacturing processes, packaging, and processing equipment

Proven experience managing capital projects and cross-functional teams

Familiarity with FDA, USDA, SQF, HACCP, and GMP standards

Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills

Experience with automation, controls, and PLC systems

Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification
