Hours: 1st Shift, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

As a Forging Machine Operator, you’ll play an integral role in our steel forging operations and contribute to the production process. You’ll work closely with the production team to ensure a seamless workflow and uphold our high-quality standards.
What You’ll Do:
As a Forging Machine Operator, you will be responsible for:
- Operating various forging equipment including hammers, mechanical presses, hydraulic presses, and furnaces.
- Heating steel billets to the appropriate forging temperatures while diligently monitoring furnace conditions.
- Assisting with die setup, tool changes, and preparing materials for each production run.
- Safely handling hot steel using tongs and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Conducting in-process inspections to verify the shape, dimensions, and quality of forged parts.
- Removing scale and performing basic trimming or shearing operations as necessary.
- Maintaining forging equipment through routine cleaning and lubrication, and promptly reporting any mechanical issues.
In terms of CNC Machine Operation (Basic Level):
- Loading and unloading forged parts into CNC lathes, mills, or machining centers.
- Starting pre-programmed CNC cycles and monitoring machine operations for efficiency.
- Performing simple offset adjustments after receiving training.
- Inspecting machined parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Deburring, cleaning, and staging finished parts for subsequent processes.
- Communicating effectively with CNC leads or setup technicians about tool wear, quality issues, or machine concerns.
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- A High School diploma or GED.
- Experience in steel forging, heavy manufacturing, or hot metal environments (preferred but willing to train).
- The physical ability to work in high-temperature conditions while performing demanding tasks.
- Capability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- A strong safety mindset and adherence to PPE protocols.
