Senior Associate Counsel
Location: New York City (Hybrid: Onsite Mon/Tues/Thurs)

Our client is an AI tech firm with offices in NYC and Israel.  They are seeking a talented and proactive Senior Associate Counsel to serve as the primary legal partner to their Go-to-Market (GTM) teams. This high-impact role is central to their commercial success, overseeing client-facing legal work, long-term strategic deals, and their professional ethics and compliance program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the lead legal partner for GTM teams, building and executing a scalable commercial legal function
     

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, aligning legal terms with business strategy and risk tolerance
     

  • Oversee contract execution and implementation, ensuring obligations and deadlines are met
     

  • Advise on strategic business initiatives and partnership structures
     

  • Own and scale the company’s ethics and compliance framework, including training and internal monitoring
     

  • Proactively identify legal risks and propose practical, business-friendly solutions
     

  • Translate legal advice into actionable guidance for internal teams
     

  • Develop and maintain legal templates, playbooks, and streamlined workflows to support commercial contracting
     

 

Qualifications

  • J.D. from a top-tier law school
     

  • 6+ years of legal experience, including:
     

  • Law firm background in commercial, corporate law, or litigation
     

  • In-house counsel experience supporting GTM, sales, or compliance at a tech, SaaS, or tech-enabled company
     

  • Proven ability to independently manage and close commercial agreements
     

  • Experience with CLM systems, legaltech platforms, or AI-powered legal tools
     

  • Track record of building or leading compliance and ethics programs
     

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
     

  • Results-driven, highly organized, and comfortable in fast-paced environments
     

  • Team player with a pragmatic approach and strong business acumen
     

     

    Preferred

    • Knowledge of professional ethics compliance frameworks
