As a Warehouse Manager in Training, you’ll play a key role in supporting the daily operations of the warehouse second shift and helping drive team success. You’ll work closely with the Warehouse Manager to deliver results that make a difference.
 What You’ll Do: As a Warehouse Manager in Training, you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring that every decision is based on the customer being the priority.
- Supervising and motivating hourly employees in a friendly environment.
- Reviewing bills of lading for incoming merchandise to plan work activities.
- Assigning employees to specific duties, such as verifying amounts of and storing incoming merchandise and assembling customer/store orders for delivery.
- Establishing operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling, and disposition of merchandise, and keeping of warehouse inventory.
- Coordinating activities of distribution with activities of sales, record control, and purchasing departments to ensure the availability of merchandise.
- Directing the reclamation of damaged merchandise.
- Coordinating activities of distribution of store fixtures.
- Executing the directives of the Department Buyers and Owners.
- Ensuring that all company policies and procedures are followed.
- Ensuring the compliance of company safety standards.
- Carrying out supervisory responsibilities, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Be personable, customer-service oriented, and a team player. Candidates should be able to work as a team leader and have above-average people skills. Strong communication skills are required.
- Have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. The candidate must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with and resolve more complicated issues.
- Be able to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The candidate is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
